The Investment Rate was developed by Thomas H. Kee Jr.,
President and CEO of Stock Traders Daily, during the Market meltdown that
followed the Internet bubble. In early 2002 money was actively flowing
into real estate, but money stopped flowing into the Stock Market. Mr.
Kee. wanted to identify the flow of investment dollars into the Economy, and
his efforts resulted in the Investment Rate. The Investment Rate
measures the amount of new money available for investment into the
Economy annually over long periods of time. New investment allocations
are what drives the Economy, not old money which has already been allocated
The Investment Rate is a longer-term leading economic
indicator. Many economic indicators are used to gauge the state of the
Economy in the next month or the next several months, but the Investment
Rate is used to gauge the state of the Economy over the course of years.
Since 1900, it has been 100% accurate at identifying the future health of
the US Economyin advance. It predicted the Great
Depression in advance, the Stagflation Period of the 1970's before it
happened, and the Up Periods in between. Now it is telling us
something important about the future.
