Mueller Industries, Inc. manufactures copper, brass, plastic, and aluminum products. It operates in two segments, Plumbing and Refrigeration, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM). The Plumbing and Refrigeration segment offers copper tubes, copper and plastic fittings, plastic pipes, valves, copper tubes, and pipe nipples; and fabricates steel pipe nipples. This segment also resells imported brass and plastic plumbing valves, malleable iron fittings, faucets, and plumbing specialty products to plumbing wholesalers in the heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning, as well as plumbing and refrigeration markets; distributors to the manufactured housing and recreational vehicle industries; and to building materials retailers. The OEM segment manufactures brass and copper alloy rods, bars, and shapes; aluminum and brass forgings; aluminum and copper impact extrusions; refrigeration valves and fittings; fabricated tubular products; and gas valves and assemblies that are primarily sold to OEMs in the plumbing, refrigeration, fluid power, and automotive industries; and to other manufacturers and distributors. This segment also manufactures engineered copper tubes for air-conditioning applications; and shaped and formed tubes for baseboard heating, appliances, and medical instruments. Mueller Industries, Inc. operates in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Great Britain, and China. The company was founded in 1900 and is based in Memphis, Tennessee.
